Beatboxin', You Bastards!

Daichi x Hikakin Beatbox.

"Welcome To Heartbreak" by Kanye West Feat. Kid Cudi (Not my favorite 808s & Heartbreak song, but . . .)

Kanye West Beatbox Cover.

- Justin Timberlake "Sexy Back" Beatbox Cover (All songs listed, but now shown are available here at -what should be- Hikakin's Google-translated blog).  The People's Poseur is not going to have J. T. up right now, even if it was produced by Timbaland.

Daft Punk ["Harder Better Faster Stronger"] Beatbox Cover.

If you check the comments on YouTube for the Super Mario beatbox that is all over the Internet these days, you'll see that Hikakin doesn't speak English, so it's pretty damn impressive he is able to sing it with a pretty negligible accent.

HIKAKIN Beatbox.

2009.9.20 HumanBeatBoxBattle in IBARAKI 決勝戦.

This is a sick beatboxing battle.  Red Bull should hook stuff like this up in the states.  Listen for the way Hikakin turns "Super Donkey Kong" around on the beatboxer that goes first, whose name is P@-C, and check P@-C's echoing and sirens (at the end) the second time he's up.

 - 2009.7.4 HumanBeatBox Live @渋谷Under Deer Lounge.  (Good beatboxing, but the video/sound quality isn't the best at this live venue, although he does simulate some pretty cool scratch noises.)

 - HumanBeatBoxBattle2008.  (Another live one.  Short, but pretty good.  Check that rooster call.)

Street Fighter Ⅱ Beatbox Remix.

Click here for the MySpace here for Hikakin's blog (both untranslated from Japanese, i.e. written in/with Kanji/Hiragana and/or Romaji).  For another site he has listed click here (untranslated) or here (translated-ish).  He also has a (Japanese) social networking site link (click here), but you can't see anything without creating an account.

WAKE THE FUCK UP. *NEW* Rusko "Hold On" Music Video (Feat. Amber Coffman)!!!

See Below...

  *NEW*  *NEW*  *NEW*

[Offical Music Video] "Hold On" by Rusko Feat. Amber Coffman.

Not even 500 views on YouTube yet. . .

INFO:
The amazing new single featuring Amber Coffman gets an official video- shot over a 5 day period while doing about 8 shows in the UK, "Hold On" documents the chaotic pace of life on the road for Rusko. Directed by Jason Miller and Charles-Ryan for Eikon.

Lookout for a full single package dropping soon with remixes from 12th Planet, Tom Stephan, Sub Focus and a couple surprises!
(Via MAD DECENT)

Buy "Hold On" here.

The People's Verdict:   Well done music video.  Both the video & the song are more laidback than what Rusko does best (see "Angel Dust" or original "Woo Boost" videos below; wobble bass dubstep insanity), but it seems to be targeting a wider Euro-electro/techno audience.  It seems to be going more mainstream like the song featuring Gucci Mane (Haven't heard of Amber Coffman before, but she probably appeals to an outside-of-America non-dubstep audience, as again Gucci does in America).  Sneaking suspicion that Rusko won't disappoint in dubstep insanity at live shows.  (Saw him at the Cat's Cradle in Carrboro on the Lazers Never Die Tour with Major Lazer and he was mildly incoherent, talking about doing crystal meth on the tour boss, and threw his hands sky high - simultaneously springing up a little and kicking both legs out - . . . every time he touched his DJing console.)

[No Video] ""Hold On (Sub Focus Remix)" by Rusko Feat. Amber Coffman.

This remix (evidently to be featured on the "full singles package" - see above) is more like it.  Dirty.

"Let Me Twitter Dat (Rusko Remix)" by Andy Milonakis.

On the YouTube comments somebody was knocking this for sounding mainstream and not being "true" dubstep, but I think they just missed the point of this one (Andy f-ing Milonakis!?!?)

"‘Cause you tweeting me like tweety bird on your iPhone." - M.I.A., "XXXO" (remix feat. Jay-Z here).

At first I thought it was related to M.I.A. with the above line/her Tweeting reporter beef (info here), but actually it's none other than . . .

"Let Me Twitter Dat" by Kool Kojak & Andy Milonakis.

  I remember (t)his show from back in the day . . .

"Andy Milonakis Show Theme Song" by Smandy Smilonakis.

Milonakis has a growth-hormone condition that gives him the voice and appearance of a teenager, when in fact he is a full grown adult.

Freedom From Pr0n (An Über-Post)

So Gizmodo got their hands on the newest version of the iPhone before its release (as you may have heard - click here if not), but what an irritated Steve Jobs answered Gizmodo contributor Ryan Tate inquiry about the "revolutionary" nature of the iPad, well . . .
I didn't plan to pick a fight with Steve Jobs last night. It just sort of happened: An iPad advertisement ticked me off; I sent the Apple CEO an angry email; he told me about "freedom from porn."
(Via Gizmodo).

And now the heavy weight champions of the world...

  ROUND 1FIGHT!

Google to Create iTunes Rival
The war between Google and Apple continues to heat up: The Wall Street Journal reports that Google will launch a music service tied to its search engine later this year and that it will follow this with a subscription music service in 2011. Details are vague, and Google has not yet announced deals with any record labels, but the Journal says the first step will be an online store that will show up when users search Google for a song or artist. The long-term goal is a cloud-based subscription service that will work with Google’s Android mobile phones; such a service would allow users to play music on their phones without storing it there.

...To be fair this is a free Google blog and I use Gmail...and I found most of these images using Google Image Search...and I use Google Wave...and have used/at least looked at a Google Calendar and Google Notebook...and my brother has an Android-based phone...and I want one...and I have an iGoogle page...and my cousin uses Google Voice...not to mention Google Chrome (browser; see below) and Google Chrome (the forthcoming operating system), among other things...

Cool Chrome Brower ad. . .

"Google Chrome Speed Tests."

Oh, have you heard about Google's illegal Wi-Fi snooping?
Google's misadventures in Wi-Fi data collection continue, as attorneys general from about 30 states are weighing a large-scale investigation of the company over their use of Street View cars to illicitly gather Wi-Fi network information. This could get ugly.
(Via Kotaku.)

Have you heard about Google Internet-tizing printed books?  (Click here for Google's side/forum) and
as for Rupert Murdoch's (I have to admit things like this make me take a shining to Google; he's pissed about Google aggregating news - power to the people?) side:
"We are seeking justice and fair compensation for visual artists whose work appears in the twelve million books and other publications Google has illegally scanned to date," ASMP General Counsel Victor Perlman said in a statement. "In doing so, we are giving voice to thousands of disenfranchised creators of visual artworks whose rights we hope to enforce through this class action."
(Via FOXBusines.com).

Oh, yeah, FOX News . . .

"OUTFOXED: Rupert Murdoch's War on Journalism (Trailer)" (Click here for OUTFOXED: Clips & Trailer).

Turns out everything you know is wrong, huh, man?

Hell, despite it's indiscretions -which I no way condone, justify or excuse- Google might be the only corporation I don't hate on.  Hell, I mean they even took on the Commies for U.S. ...
Google China has been in the news due to its rocky relationship with China for some time, and today those issues have culminated into a major move.
(Via The Huffington Post.)

You might also be interested in checking out China's censored search engine, "Goojje" -
The way the name works is this: Jie Jie (Goojje) is mandarin for sister, while "ge ge" (Google) means big brother (er, shouldn't that be the other way round?) The Web Monster (ie, the real one) is being exhorted to stay by its sino-doppelganger, with a message on Goojje that reads, "Sister was very happy when brother gave up the thought of leaving and stayed for sister."
(Via Gizmodo.)

And they have a sense of humor, as well as a nerdy and an intellectual side as well, too...

+ Pac-Man is so named because "pac pac pac" is the Japanese onomatopoeia for eating.

+ "All that I know about my life, it seems, I have learned in books." - Jean-Paul Sartre (Too bad my French isn't good enough to be really highbrow/uppity and quote it in the original.)

So, what am I forgetting to mention?  Google Earth?  Google Moon?  Google Mars (and Easter Eggs?!?!) . . . Google Maps?  What else?

[UPDATE] Google Translation (here).

More culture-jamming - oh, and Free Tibet! (Click here to take action.)

And so as not to be accused of only hating on Apple (though I do actively dislike their Hipper-Than-Thou marketing/aura/aesthetic), I'll re-up on my Hatorade and send some negative vibes Microsoft's way as well (click here to check out a mad nice Microsoft subvertising/busted ad graphic).

Damn, almost forgot about Google TV . . .

And, yes, I put their shoes up here, but let's be real about it. . .

And all of that without even taking the time to go into the whole Google Fiber deal/fiasco. . .

The People's Poseur Presents: Un-American Activities Vol. I - Toumani Diabaté

Below is a video ofToumani Diabaté as he plays the kora, an instrument from Mali.

He identifies himself as a "griot," which is similar to a troubadour in Frankish culture (Wiki here), a bard in certain other parts of Europe during the Middle Ages, as well as in the Ancient Greek tradition (Homer's Illiad and Odyssey) or a skald in medieval Icelandic society (Wiki here).  Basically Diabaté identifies himself with a tradition that scholars of hip-hop (among other things) trace back as an important component of African oral history/culture and an influence - one of many - on today's music.  Diabaté belongs to a group of hereditary storytellers that can trace their lineage back to the 13th century and, to me, that's beautiful.

"The Mande Variations" by Toumani Diabaté (shouts to Bossman on the video).

Today I was accosted by a guy on a bike, who picked me out (probably because I looked like a fool easily parted with his money, but nonetheless he picked me out) and proceeded to spit bar after bar of heartfelt 5 Percenter heavy, unique (if Deltron 3030-esque), sci-fi futuristic, the modern as dystopian, angst-fueled gritty old Wu-Tang Clan NYC-style lyricism heavy ciphering.  Even in Chapel Hill, N.C., some other people gathered around to hear the God kick it and that's something considering how into ourselves we all seem to be around here.

Anyway, you may have seen him around: E.T. is out, hustling his first effort Holy Star Wars (sic) and his newer creative output Sci-Fly.  Hopefully I'll get a song up here or an interview or something from him one of these days.

Real music never dies.
