"Machete (The Illegal Trailer)" directed by Robert Rodriguez (who says, "Happy Cinco de Mayo, Arizona!").
(Via Super Punch.) *This Video Will Probably Be On The News & It Hasn't Even Been Watched 400 Times Yet*
[UPDATE] It was on the news and the original video got taken down. New video (Via hiphophypedog). Evidently this movie has white people worried (check the via link). Good old controversy.
I am a fan of Quentin Tarantino and when he teamed up with Robert Rodriguez, his friend and the director of the Mariachi Trilogy, as well as de facto director of "Sin City," to make "Grindhouse" I was pretty excited.
Splitting "Death Proof" and "Planet Terror" up into two different movies for the DVD release might have made economic sense, but the true experience was sitting through the fake trailers for "Machete" directed by Rodriguez, "Werewolf Women of the SS" directed by Rob Zombie, "Don't" by Edgar Wright ("Shaun of the Dead," "Hot Fuzz"), "Thanksgiving" by Eli Roth, and . . . if you were in Canada, evidently the below-embedded "Hobo With a Shotgun."
2007 SXSW "Grindhouse" Trailer Contest Winner.
That, the fake commercials, the missing sex scene, and the movies one after the other were awesome. Oh, that and finding out that "Machete" was actually going to get made.
